THE GUIDES AND THE COOK
Runar and Edda offer guided tours for groups of all sizes.
Runar has enormous experience travelling in Iceland. Over the 16 years he has been running Eric The Red he has given many of his guests good advice on where to travel in the island. He has travelled all over Iceland and climbed many mountains in his country as well as abroad.
Edda has also travelled all around Iceland and started to guide foreigners in Iceland. She will graduate as a professional guide from The Iceland Tourist Guide School in May.
Edda can arrange accommodation, buses etc. for tours out of Reykjavik. She is born in Reykjavik and knows the city very well and can make tailor made tours around the city as well as in the country.
Edda is also an experienced cook and has cooked in a fishing lodge, on field trips, in restaurants as well as writing recepies in magazines and newspaper. She can easily take the responsibility of feeding hungry tourists while on tour.
EXAMPLE OF A DAY TOUR
Drive from Reykjavik to Thingvellir, A National Park. Stop there for a short walk through Almannagja (People´s Ravine). Drive to the highlands, Kaldadal to see glacier Langjokull and other glaciers if the weather is clear. Walk into a lava cave named Vidgelmir, see waterfall named Barnafoss and a hot spring named Deildartunguhver. From there a drive to Borgarnes one of Iceland´s small villages and visit The Settlement museum in the village. Drive back to Reykjavik.
Duration approximately 9-10 hours including an hour for lunch.

You can rent a car and drive yourself and have Edda as the guide on the tour
For bigger groups Edda can arrange a bus to rent.
